Heather Heron is a Managing Director at Strategic Retirement Partners based in Austin, Texas.
Originally from Yakima, Washington, Heather’s path to Austin was shaped by athletics. A former NCAA Division I All-American track and field athlete at San Diego State University. It was during an NCAA meet hosted in Austin that she experienced the city for the first time that ultimately led her to relocate and build both her career and life in Texas.
Today, Heather brings the same mindset that shaped her track career into the way she works with clients. Years of competing and coaching instilled a belief that there is always room to learn, improve, and try a different approach—and that progress requires both persistence and a willingness to receive feedback. That foundation serves as her template in working through challenges: never settling, never backing down from complexity, and always looking for a better path forward.
This perspective drives her reputation for being direct, solutions-oriented, and highly detail-focused—someone who cuts through complexity and stays grounded in what matters most: solving the problem in front of her. Her approach is simple: it’s less about how an issue arose, and more about how to fix it in a way that creates meaningful, lasting results for both employers and participants.
Her passion for understanding the complexities of plan design—and applying that knowledge to develop creative, practical solutions for the clients she serves—led her to pursue the Qualified 401(k) Consultant (QKC) designation. This depth of expertise has also allowed her to specialize in navigating retirement plan considerations within mergers and acquisitions, where thoughtful design and strategic decision-making are critical. Typically obtained by TPAs rather than advisors, the QKC reflects Heather’s commitment to being well-rounded and thinking through both solutions and potential roadblocks at a deeper level. She believes this perspective is essential to building long-standing, trusted relationships and values being a trusted partner far more than the titles themselves.
Outside of work, Heather stays active in Austin’s recreational sports scene, participating in flag football, softball, sand volleyball, and strength training—while also actively supporting her local orthopedic specialist and doing her part to meet her deductible. She is also a long-time foster with Austin Pug Rescue and the proud owner of three very spoiled dogs.
She holds the QKC, QKA, CPFA®, and AIF® designations, along with FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 licenses*.
*Series 7 and 24 securities registrations held through LPL Financial. Series 66 registration held through both LPL Financial and WELLth Advisory Services, LLC.
