Shelly Peterson, Operations Manager for our West Coast Practice, is responsible for managing and coordinating the delivery of services and strategic consulting to our valued clients.
Shelly has over 15 years of experience working with employers that sponsor defined benefit, defined contribution, and non-qualified retirement plans. She possesses the unique ability to translate technical regulations and jargon into language and concepts that are easily understood and can be efficiently acted upon. Shelly’s industry experience makes her ideally suited to help employers identify their unique retirement plan objectives and to align plan design and administration to accomplish their specific goals.
Her working philosophy is that everything is fixable and it takes less time to do things right the first time, than it does to fix them later. She would much rather declare what she has just accomplished, than what she plans to do in the future. Her approach is always consultative and she is passionate about being a resource for her clients and providing exceptional service. Honesty, integrity, and dedication are her highest priorities.
Shelly earned her Bachelor’s degree in accounting and is an Accredited Pension Administrator (APA) with National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA) and an Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) with the IRS. Her ERPA credential allows her to practice before the IRS and represent her clients in matters pertaining to qualified retirement plans: including IRS audit support, Employee Plan Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS), VCP filing, and Audit Cap.
In her spare time, Shelly spends time with her family and enjoys hiking and swimming.
