Joe Brummel, Managing Director, leads our Twin Cities team. Joe is a passionate advocate for helping plan sponsors build successful retirement plans and preparing participants for retirement.
A professional in the retirement plan industry since 1996, Joe brings both expertise and passion to his role as Managing Director at Strategic Retirement Partners. He has been an active advocate in voluntarily helping advisors and plan sponsors by sharing his expertise as a Founding Lecturer of The Retirement Advisor University™, a collaboration with UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education, and serving as Adjunct Lecturer for The Plan Sponsor University™ in Minnesota.
Joe's knowledge and communication skills have made him a sought-after speaker and writer for CEO, CPA and Human Resources Groups, as well as major media organizations such as Twin Cities Business and the Pioneer Press. He was named to 401kWire's "Top 300 Most Influential Defined Contribution Advisors in America” in 2010 and 2011, the Financial Times "401 Top Retirement Plan Advisors" in 2016 and 2017, and one of three individual national finalists for PLANSPONSOR Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year in 2018.
An economics graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, MN, Joe furthered his education since then by earning the Accredited Investment Fiduciary, AIF®, and Certified 401(k) Professional, C(k)P®, industry certifications. Joe and his wife live in Prior Lake, MN, with their two children, where they enjoy sports, outdoor activities and family gatherings.
